So, who is using whom and who is the smarter of the two? Actually, both sides are using each other and both sides are equally not smart and are downright stupid. But they do share one thing in common. That one thing in common is both sides think they are smart and that the other side is stupid. And that is why they are going to fail and Najib is going to remain Prime Minister for some time to come.

A reader by the name of Terence Gui posted the following comment in the article written by Teh Wei Soon and published in the Malaysian Digest titled 'What Should Barisan Nasional Do To Win Back Chinese Voters?'

After getting screwed at every turn for nearly 60 years, now that there is a hope to topple the Corrupt Ruling Regime, the only way that the Chinese will ever support UMNO/BN is if every single BN member ups and dies overnight!

I decided to not only allow that comment but to also pick it up to include in this article because this more or less echoes what most Pakatan Harapan people feel about Umno in particular and Barisan Nasional in general. They just want the three million Umno members and the estimated five million from Barisan Nasional to die — literally, that is, not figure of speech.

Most Chinese and Indians feel the same way that Terence Gui feels, which is that the non-Malays have been screwed at every turn for nearly 60 years — or since Merdeka.

Seventy years ago, in 1946, one year after the end of WWII, the British merged the Straits Settlements, Federated Malay States and Unfederated Malay States into the Malayan Union. The Chinese and Indians did not give two hoots but the Malays did. So they opposed the Malayan Union and to do this they formed Umno as the political platform to oppose the British plan.

Realising that the Malayan Union was not going down well with the Malays, two years later, in 1948, the British relented and formed the Persekutuan Tanah Melayu to replace the Malayan Union. The Malays were happier with this but still the Chinese and Indians did not give two hoots. They did not really care much about Malaya because they did not regard themselves as Malayans anyway.

Chin Peng, however, would not agree to the Persekutuan Tanah Melayu. So, in that same year, he launched the 12-year Malayan Emergency (1948-1960) that saw more than 12,000 killed and wounded. The CPM lost that war in 1960 but in 1967 they re-launched the Second Malayan Emergency that ended in 1989 when the Peace Treaty was signed in Hat Yai, Thailand.

So, when Terence Gui said the non-Malays have been screwed at every turn for nearly 60 years — or since Merdeka — he probably means that when the British granted the country Merdeka in 1957, the Chinese and Indians were not allowed to leave the country to return home to their own country but were forced to remain in Malaya against their will.

Anyway, most Chinese and Indians I have talked to say the same thing. So we cannot attack Terence Gui for saying what he said. And this is the backbone of the anti-government Pakatan Harapan support base. They just hate Umno and Barisan Nasional people and would like to see them all dead, literally. But Umno had better not say the same thing about the opposition supporters (that Umno wants them all dead as well) or else Umno would be called a racist party.

Nevertheless, as much as the opposition supporters and Chinese like Terence Gui would like to see all the Umno and Barisan Nasional supporters dead, this does not stop them from working with the Umno people from the ANC (Anti-Najib Campaign). They would even gladly embrace Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Muhyiddin Yassin and anoint them as the new leaders of the Reformasi Movement.

I suppose you can always say: I support you since you oppose my enemy but I still want you dead. However, it makes one wonder whether Dr Mahathir and Muhyiddin are just plain stupid or whether they are so desperate that they do not mind being used as political prostitutes.

Sometimes, however, I wonder whether it is the Pakatuns like Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali and Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng who are the brainless people instead. Dr Mahathir said he would join the March 27th gathering calling for the resignation of the Prime Minister, the AG and the IGP. But what Dr Mahathir did not announce is who is going to take over once all these people resign. Does Dr Mahathir agree with the Pakatan Harapan plan that Anwar Ibrahim would be given a pardon and then would take over as Malaysia's new Prime Minister?

Dr Mahathir and Muhyiddin have both made it very clear that they want Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak ousted so that they can save Umno and to make sure that Pakatan Harapan does not win the next election. Yet these Pakatuns work with Dr Mahathir and Muhyiddin and appoint them as the new Reformasi Movement leaders in spite of that.

Isn't that very silly? Maybe it's a case of both sides being equally brainless and that is why they can work with each other very well. The Pakatuns probably can swallow this hook, line and sinker but the rest of us are too clever to buy this nonsense.

I remember once when the naïve and gullible Taliban also fell for this same ploy. When Russia invaded Afghanistan the United State supported and helped arm the Taliban. Actually the United States did not really want to help the Taliban but wanted to use the Taliban to defeat Russia without the loss of any American lives.

Around 1.5 million people died in that war with another five million being displaced and being reduced to refugees (and many more died as refugees). It was an extremely heavy toll indeed. But when Russia was eventually defeated and they went home to Moscow, the United State would not allow the Taliban to rule the country and instead they put an American puppet on the throne.

And this is what both the ANC and Pakatan Harapan are trying to do to each other. Both are trying to use the other side to oust their enemies and once that happens they will grab power. But it will not be a power-sharing arrangement between the ANC and Pakatan Harapan. It is going to be one side grabbing power with the other side getting assassinated.
